I've spent far too much time dragging my heels through life, too much time worrying about each thought I have, each step I take. 2007 presents a new day for me. It presents a time for me to live my life the way I please, laugh all the way through it, and love unconditionally. Really, how can you go wrong when you have a mantra like that?

Take my advice ladies and gents... live your life like you have a new start each day and that nothing that happens today will matter tomorrow. Wake up each morning with a clear head and a renewed vigor for the challenges, surprises, and happiness the day may bring.

Be adventagous in your decisions: make your decision work for you, live out the advantages it may bring to your doorstep. Do not say no... just try.

Someone once told me "Life is Perfect/Precious," and I did not always listen; although I tried to believe. We each have an opportunity to make any situation perfect. However, for me, it's easier just to Live Laugh & Love.

learning lesson

must learn to curb my emotions when its hovering on the other side.. must be patient, must listen, understand.. i have been calm in so many situations where i could have been so upset and i need to take that quality and transfer it for every situation. even toward matters of the Heart..
Some things are just out of control, given the situation.. and there's nothing you can do about it. you can't expect certain reactions, the moment might just be out of hand for someone else..
Its good when you see the situation and you do something about learning from it... thats the battle half won...

Live large my friends.. everyone passes by but not everyone really lives. If you haven't travelled.. do so quick! You have to move out from the square you live in and cast your eyes on sights never seen. Trust me on that one. BE true to yourself, at the end of the day, you know who you are and if ur not giving yourself what you deserve then whats the dam point? And remember something else, dreams never die if you live large enough. BE Deaf to the crap people give you and walk on; absorb the good things you hear. and never say, I know everytyhing. You dont..accept that and you'll be blessed with more wisdom.

Swami Ramdev in London

Swami Ramdev is right now visiting London and I managed to take a photo of him. You cant see from the picture but I was ordered to take only one picture and no video by his bodyguards of which he had 3 and then disappear. Althought I managed to take a picture without his bodygurds.

Unfortunately due to the heat of the sun this summer, my tabla which i have had for over 10 years...sadly had to part with.

It started of about 2 weeks ago where i noticed a small scratch...from which it turned bigger and deeper and longer as the days went on. Then suddenly over night one day i came downstairs to play tabla and saw...half done...:(

For some reason, every time there I go to Park Ave, and miraculously I sit at the front, I can always feel and hear the Sangat singing along with the kirtan. Wonderful...

Candle Meditation!

A pleasant and easy meditation method is the candle meditation. It is used to help increase your concentration power.

It’s fairly self explanatory. You just place a candle, in a safe holder, on a low table. A coffee table would be perfect. Light the candle, then sit arms length away and then gaze at the flame.

This normally requires sitting cross legged, or in lotus. Optionally you could sit on your haunches.

If you are not comfortable in these positions you could just put the candle on a normal height table and sit on a chair. Remember to stay arms length away during the meditation.

Blink as little as possible. Your eyes may water. This is good, your eyes will enjoy a good cleansing.

[This meditation can also help improve your eyesight.]

After a short while you can close your eyes and you’ll still see the candle flickering and dancing away…

In your mind’s eye. Either faintly, or as if it’s really there. Either is fine.

You can either just watch the flame as it ‘appears’ or visualise it between your eyebrows.

If thoughts come just let them be there or drift by while keeping most of your attention on the candle flame.

If the image of the flame fades just open your eyes and repeat the process.

You could start off with a few minutes of this meditation,working up to about twenty.

If time allows it is a good idea to rest, lying down, for a few minutes after safely snuffing out the candle.

If you want to do the candle meditation as a prelude to your usual meditation a few minutes should be enough. It's very settling and peaceful. Of course, then you only need to rest at the end of your main meditation!

It’s really powerful and relaxing to do this candle meditation. If you’ve ever had a real fire at home you know how enjoyable and mesmerising it is to sit gazing into the flames.

There are even dvds available so you can gaze at a flickering fire on your TV screen!

Although, I must confess, I prefer the real thing!

Fresh Cream Strawberry Tarts!

It was my sister’s birthday recently and I thought I should bake a cake while she was at work. It took me about 2 hours to make in total. I made everything from scratch and the joy you get out of completion of the cake is awesome, not to mention the taste. Please everyone, have a go at making these delicious cakes!

Ingredients:

Short crust pastry

Double Cream

Custard

Strawberry flavoured jelly crystals (vegetarian of course)

Strawberries

Preparation Directions

Heat Oven
Roll out pastry and cut circles, roughly 4-inches. Place the pastry circles into the baking tray/muffin cups. Pinch 5 equally spaced pleats around side of each cup. Prick each pastry generously with fork.
Bake pastry 5 to 7 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes. Carefully remove from muffin cups. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, make custard until thick and lumpy and place in Refrigerator until cool.
Also whip some cream, using Double cream and store in the Refrigerator.
And make the Strawberry flavoured jelly, but this should not be solid, and should remain runny, so that you can pour it on top of the strawberries.
Once everything has cooled, take the muffin cups/baking tray and fill with the cool custard, so that it fills the cup to the top.
Then add the strawberries!
Then the half liquid jelly, just to glaze the strawberries. Don’t worry if it spills everywhere, it adds to the effect!
Then Garnish each with whipped cream topping.
Ahhh, we haven’t finished yet though….place everything in the Refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Serve and Enjoy! Yummmmm!

Just look at the Lovely colours in the Fresh, Organic capsicums. Your mouths are already dripping with hunger, haha! I’m sure everybody knows the reason organic food is better so i will not divulge into it.
When you start to make food with your own hands and your own time, you begin to realise how wonderful the earth is and the need to respect Mother Nature’s gifts. Over the last couple of years I have become healthier by cutting down the sugar intake and salty food like crisps and chips. Fast food was never attracting to me, especially knowing the fact that I don’t know how the cook it or what it is cooked in or even if the chef does something nasty to it.
I realised I can cook up a meal quite quickly and easily with a bit of practise, as so can everybody else at home. As long as when go to the supermarket you buy all the vegi's and fruits and other bits and pieces. Try not to get ready chopped meals because to put it simply, its not fresh!
Get out there and start cooking!!! Go...Now...Wot are you waiting for...Gooo! Haha. If you Love your stomach - feed it fresh organic homemade food!

The Chips From Indiaaaa!!!

Ahhh yes, your all thinkin about how the indian chip taste, hehe! Well let me tell you. Do you remember the salt they used on the chips, well, Yummmyyy! hehe! Back to the topic of home-made cooking. Its true, you just cannot beat it! Everyone knows that when their mum or dad cooks food, it is always great! Now im not saying my mum is the best cook, but she knows alot about cooking and would easily surpirse anyone!
Today we made chips. You do the usual stuff, fry in oil and stuff. But the trick is to use a special masala. We used a short cut and went to the local indian shop to buy some masala. Its Chunky Chat Masala, which contains black and white salt, pumkinseeds, black pepper, and verious other ingredients! As soon as the chips come out of the oil, sprinkle the masala on and serve! When you taste it, Ohh wow! India, I'm there! Forget the £350 plane ticket! haha! Below are some pictures of the smoking HOT chips with the masala sprinkled over it! Enjoy!

Everyone loves a home-cooked meal, but who has the time? Well make time! You dont know what your mising out on. Apart from enjoying the food that you have made, you will enjoy the time spent in the kitchen and feel happy about yourselves that you have learnt somthing new! Even the busiest person can deliver marvelous meals, scrumptious snacks and decadent desserts in minutes.
Just go down to your local store and buy the packaged ready mixed foods. They usualy have the ingredience on the back and if your good at following instructions, then your snack will be ready to eat in minuts. Plus its a great reason to invite your mates around, you can even use them as your testers. Hehe!
With a bit of experience anyone can learn how to cook. Wheres there's a Happy face in the kitchen, there's a Happy stomach in the family room! Tabla Teacher!

Ive been learning tabla for some time now and i have grown more attatched to the wonderful Sweet sounds that can be produced. Some tabla players are so skilled that i could listen to them just messing around on the tabla. Ahhhh, such bliss!
Anyhooo, i came across sum really good tabla videos. The video above is a white man teaching tabla and is the core basics needed to know in order to play tabla. Click the picture to watch!

Fruity Art!

I came across this wondeful art work which absolutly stunned me! If u look closer at the picture, it is not an ordanary Bouquet. Its is a skillfully designed Bouquet of flowers using different fruits to get the right colour, shape and effect! Each fruit has been carved using special knives and ofcourse is edible. Its nice to see that there is still skill around in the 21th Century.
The next time someone comes to my house I will be sure to give them a Fruity Surprise! Haha!
